ALWAYS: 31 days of 5-minute free writes
I thought today’s post was going to have “Maid” as a springboard again, because I recalled a passage where Stephanie spoke about her goal of being a writer. Although she didn’t overtly say the word “always,” it became clear through her writing that the one drumbeat of a goal in her life was her desire to be a writer.
That does tie in (kind of) to my goal of going to Valencia, Spain. Technically, it doesn’t have to be Valencia, but if I’m going to manifest this by sharing it with the universe, I might as well manifest with specifics, right?
I picked this picture mainly because I wanted an image in this post. I thought it was a woman hugging herself, but the more I look at it, I wonder if those are a man’s hands, especially the ones around her left shoulder.
But the concept I had in mind as I hastily chose this picture was about self-love — of our faults, our strengths and our goals.
There may be naysayers out there who think we can’t attain our goals. We may have put ourselves in positions that will make it more difficult than it needs to be, but giving up would be like prying these hugging hands off of this woman’s torso and leaving her adrift.
We shouldn’t leave those we love and support adrift, nor should we leave ourselves adrift.
I wonder what this woman is looking ahead to (and what she doesn’t see sneaking up behind her since her back is turned).
